City Brewery
Brief History
Located at the corner of Third and Mississippi streets (in La Crosse), was established in 1858 by John Gund and Gottlieb Heileman, and is an enterprise of great value. The premises consists of the brewery proper, malt house, ice-house and bottling department, all of stone, and erected at a liberal outlay. At first, but a limited quantity of beer was placed upon the market compared with the amount now annually brewed, but as years came and went the demand increased and the
product augmented proportionately.

City Pale Ale
Winner of the American Premium Lager Category at the 2000 World Beer Cup Competition, is a full-bodied lager, using artesian water from deep below the earth's surface. The beer is fully kraeusened, and uses a generous supply of malt, brewer's rice and aromatic hops, then aged 32 days in chilled lagering cellars until released by our brewmaster. 4.0%
alcohol by weight and 150 calories per 12 oz. serving.
City Light
Iis a crisp, clean American-style, fully kraeusened light beer utilizing six-row barley malt, brewer's rice, aromatic hops, and pure water from an artesian water source. This beer has extra body compared to most American-style light beers, and is
aged 29 days to produce a smoother, better tasting light beer. 3.4% alcohol by weight and 115 calories per 12 oz. serving.
LaCrosse Lager
Is a full-bodied, full-flavored original lager beer, made with world class brewing techniques, including kraeusening, pure artesian water, and natural carbonation. This lager is brewed a full 30 days, and chilled in lagering tanks to produce a softer, more enjoyable taste. 3.8% alcohol by weight and 147 calories per 12 oz. serving.
LaCrosse Light
Is a fully kraeusened light beer utilizing choice brewing ingredients, pure artesian brewing water, and Cascade hops. The LaCrosse Light brand is naturally carbonated to deliver a smoother, better-tasting light beer. This exceptional tasting light beer is brewed 28 days to create a lighter taste profile for the consumer who wants the taste a regular beer, without the calories. 3.3% alcohol by weight and 112 calories per 12 oz. serving.
